Information Collection
OEI is the Agency's focal point for collecting, managing, providing, and safeguarding environmental information. OEI works in collaboration with our partners and customers to develop and implement innovative EPA collection policies to ensure that information is more efficiently and accurately colleted. OEI enables the Agency to protect human health and the environment through informed decisions and actions.
Central Data Exchange
The Central Data Exchange (CDX) enables fast, efficient, secure and more accurate environmental data submissions from state and local governments, industry and tribes to EPA and participating program offices.
Environmental Information Exchange Network and Grants Program
The Exchange Network electronically collects and stores accurate information, integrates information from across state, tribal, and territorial partners, and provides secure access to information in a timely manner.
Facility Registry System (FRS)
This central database links and integrates all place-oriented records to allow for more complete public access, comprehensive data integration, and accurate mapping of the facilities regulated by EPA.
Freedom of Information Act
A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request is a written request for records held or believed to be held by EPA. It is EPA's policy to make the fullest possible disclosure of information without unjustifiable expense or unnecessary delay to any requester. Before making a request under the FOIA, please make sure the information you seek is not already available on EPA's Web site.
Privacy Act
The Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. ยง 552a) is a law which mandates how federal agencies maintain records about individuals. The law strives to balance the government's need to maintain these records with the individual's right to be protected from unwarranted invasions of personal privacy.
Regulations.gov
Regulations.gov is the U.S. Government Web site that makes it easier for you to participate in Federal rulemaking - an essential part of the American democratic process.
System of Registries
The System of Registries provides a gateway and search capability to several registries and repositories residing in EPA.
