Dearest -

I'm sorry to learn that this last month is going by so slowly for you. It must be pretty lonely for you, all by yourself (& little Rema) in an apartment in a strange neighborhood. I don't suppose you've become acquainted with your neighbors as is your wont, in this particular locality.

Still, before you know it, we'll be together & reminiscing about the war days, our experiences in Dixon Valley et al. For me, the time is flying by--not fast enough--but I'm kept so busy during the daytime that I haven't an opportunity to daydream or brood. Of course, I retire earlier in the evenings & they're are [sic] plenty of fellows here with whom to "shoot the bull" & pass time. And read! I read at least 3 novels this week: "The Great Gatsby," "Colonel Effingham's Raid" & "British Agent" by W. Somerset Maugham.

If Lt. Moore could have his way, I'd be plugging away at the typewriter
