Bishop, CA - July 17, 2008...The Inyo National Forest has released the Campground Permit Prospectus for the operation and maintenance of Government-owned campgrounds located on the Mammoth and Mono Lake Ranger Districts. Two permits will be issued, one permit for the Mammoth Ranger District and one permit for the Mono Lake Ranger District. The Mammoth permit includes campgrounds in the Reds Meadow area as well as campgrounds in and around the Town of Mammoth Lakes.  The Mono Lake permit includes campgrounds in June Lake and upper Lee Vining Canyon.

The prospectus and related information are posted on the Inyo National Forest website under the “Projects and Plans” link, www.fs.fed.us/r5/inyo/.   People can also access the information by visiting the Federal Business Opportunity website at www.fedbizopps.gov/

Applications must be received by close of business (4:30 PM) on Monday, September 8, 2008, and should be submitted to the Inyo National Forest, 351 Pacu Lane, Suite 200, Bishop, CA 93514, Attention: Jeff Marsolais.  A selection will be made in the fall of 2008, so that permits may be issued and operators in place on January 1, 2009.
