Drop-in Locations and Dates Announced
Bishop, CA (April 7, 2008)...The Inyo National Forest has announced a change in location for the April 16 public meeting on the Travel Management – Route Designation planning process. The meeting will be held in the parish hall of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 849 Home Street, in Bishop, beginning at 7:00 pm.
The purpose of the meeting is to update the public on the Travel Management – Route Designation process, including discussion on the recently released Scoping Report, comments received during the scoping period, identification of the issues that came out of the comment analysis, and a description of the draft array of alternatives that the Forest Service interdisciplinary team is beginning to develop for analysis.
The Forest Service has also announced that they will be hosting two "drop-in" opportunities, during which the public can review and discuss the Scoping Report and the draft array of alternatives. Both "drop-ins" are scheduled from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on April 17, and will be held at the Mt. Whitney Ranger Station, 640 South Main Street, in Lone Pine, and at the Mammoth Ranger Station in Mammoth Lakes.
