Current Research Projects

Virus and Virus-like Diseases of Vegetables

  • Identification of viruses responsible for major economic losses in vegetables.
  • Characterization of tomato spotted wilt virus proteins at molecular and biochemical levels to identify their functions in viral replication.
  • Refinement of in vitro assays for evaluation of potential viral replication inhibitors.
  • Evaluation of appropriateness of characterized proteins/processes for viral diagnostic and management strategies.
