Research Project: APPLICATION OF "INTERPRETING INDICATORS OF RANGELAND HEALTH" (IIRH, TR 1734-6) TO MANAGEMENT OF LINEAR IMPACTS

Objective:
The ARS-Jornada Exp. Range shall address the limitations of the existing IIRH (Interpreting Indicators of Rangland Health) process through a project of up to five years duration that shall generate preliminary products and recommendations by the close of FY 2008.

Approach:
Review existing approaches to linear impact assessment, inventory, and monitoring, and a literature review on off-highway (OHV) impacts recently completed by a BLM contractor. Develop a draft framework for organizing and communicating the guidance described in agreement, and identify and test the suite of field indicators.
