Dr. John Henning - Research Plant Geneticist

Welcome to the USDA-ARS Hop Breeding & Genetics program website.  The program is located in Corvallis, Oregon (USA) on the campus of Oregon State University.  Our program goals are to develop advanced hop germplasm and cultivars that incorporate superior pest and disease resistance, increased yield, and enhanced brewing characteristics.  We are also heavily involved with basic genetic research using both traditional and molecular genetic techniques.

This website contains information from our research activities along with general hop information.

Here is a link to our Hops Chemical Summaries database

and Here is a link to our Hops Culitvar index.

Here is a pedigree of hops cultivars in .pdf  format displaying the ancestry of cultivars developed or co-developed by the USDA-ARS Hop Breeding & Genetics program.

These pages are still under construction.
