Dr. Jerry Lazo, USDA-ARS-WRRC, Albany, CA presented a seminar on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Aberdeen, ID titled "GrainGenes: Thatching together the Grass Genomes". The seminar focused on the use of the GrainGenes web site and how it could be used as a tool. |

Sri Lankan officials visit researchers at the USDA-ARS and University of Idaho Research and Extension Center. In a training mission, officials from Sri Lanka visited various potato production areas and facilities in Idaho. This tour was sponsored by the U.S. Potato Board and the USDA Cochran Program to introduce U.S. seed potatoes into countries where climate may limit production of seed potatoes. These officials visited with Drs. Jonathan Whitworth (USDA-ARS) and Rajagopalbabu Srinivasan (Univ. of Idaho). Coordinating and accompanying them on their visit is Peter Joyce, U.S. Potato Board. |
