Rhode Island Company Convicted for Illegally Storing Hazardous Waste

The Southern Union Co. was convicted by a federal jury for illegally storing mercury at a site in Pawtucket, R.I. The company stored the mercury-containing regulators, as well as loose liquid mercury, in various inappropriate containers in a vacant building.
Equipment Loans Help New England Volunteers Collect Water Quality Info

New England Students Awarded EPA Research Grants

Four students in New England and 32 nationwide received EPA STAR fellowships to complete their masters or doctorate degrees and work on solutions to important environmental challenges. Additionally, two students in New England and 22 nationwide received Greater Research Opportunities fellowships to complete either their undergraduate or graduate degrees.
