In the federal government today, it is not uncommon to find agency organizations operating side by side with some under the Title V General Schedule System while others are exempt from Title V and classifying their jobs according to agency pay banding procedures. Classifiers and the staff personnel who serve as classification liaisons therefore understand that a good basic foundation in the principles of federal classification is mandatory to making professional management decisions. This course is designed to serve as a refresher for those with classification experience and as a forum to discuss the more difficult and technical classification issues.
This course and its exercises are based on actual classification appeals decided by the Office of Personnel Management.
Who Should Attend?
This course is for HR and human capital office staff, including managers, supervisors and traditional administrative staff, who have had experience in evaluating/classifying positions under Title 5 and/or alternative classification and compensation systems.
