Revised NIGMS Web Site—Easy Access to Programs, Publications, News

The NIGMS has launched its revamped web site (www.nigms.nih.gov), which now offers easier access to the Institute's news, publications, and funding opportunities. Visitors can find out about programs in basic biomedical research and training and view online versions of award-winning science education publications about genetics, cell biology, and other topics. These publications include The Structures of Life, The Chemistry of Health, Genetic Basics, Genes & Populations, and Findings. Free printed copies can also be ordered online at www.nigms.nih.gov/news/publications.html.

The new site is divided into the following five sections: Research Funding, Training & Careers, Minority Programs, News & Events, and About NIGMS. The site also features improved navigation and search tools. In addition, it is fully accessible by users with assistive technology devices, such as screen readers for the visually impaired.

NIGMS supports thousands of scientists nationwide whose research helps increase understanding of fundamental life processes and lays the foundation for advances in disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
