Watershed Management Workshops

Watershed management section staff periodically conduct training or host workshops on a variety of topics. These workshops are generally open to agencies at all levels of government and volunteer monitors, unless otherwise noted.

Please send us a message, if you would like to be added to our mailing list for any of the following workshops. Be sure to specify the workshop that you are interested in.

Regional Technical Assistance Group (RTAG) Meeting

The RTAG meetings are held annually at the EPA Region 6 Dallas office to bring together nutrient experts within the Region. Recent efforts of state agencies toward the development of numeric nutrient criteria, as well as the latest technical information available, is reviewed and discussed. For additional information, please contact Mike Bira at (214) 665-6668 or send an email.

Annual Monitoring and Assessment Workshop

Our annual monitoring and assessment workshop, traditionally held in Bandera, Texas, provides a unique opportunity for Federal, State, and local agency personnel to meet and exchange information regarding their monitoring programs and monitoring methods. Workshop speakers cover a broad range of monitoring related areas including sample collection, analytical issues, data management, data assessment, and reporting and information exchange. Topics include chemical characterization of water, sediment, and fish tissue, toxicity testing, aquatic community and physical habitat assessment, and other innovative approaches to monitoring and assessment. For additional information, please contact Paul Koska at (214) 665-8357 or send an email.
