Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Skills for Auditors


Overview:
As an auditor, you are called upon to work collaboratively with management, yet remain impartial and retain audit integrity. Learn techniques helpful to facilitating audit work and getting agreement and action on recommendations. Through role-play exercises, you practice negotiation techniques and learn how to keep your cool, stand your ground, handle conflict, negotiate from logic and reach a positive solution.
Who Should Attend?
Experienced auditors, particularly audit supervisors, team leaders and managers. Level: Journeyman.

  • Explain the primary reasons conflicts occur
  • Explain the five classic conflict resolution strategies
  • Describe ways to confront people that minimize defensiveness and hostility and prevent conflicts from escalating
  • Describe critical negotiation skills
  • Recognize when to apply negotiating strategies to establish rapport and cooperation
  • Apply techniques to deal with manipulative tactics
