Midwest Latino Nonprofits Invited to Apply for Capacity-Building Grants

Deadline: December 10, 2001 (Letters of intent)

Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) ( http://www.hiponline.org/ ) is offering
three-year capacity-building grants to Latino nonprofits in the Midwest. The
grants will be provided through the Funders' Collaborative for Strong Latino
Communities
(http://www.hiponline.org/collaborative.html), an HIP initiative designed to
strengthen the infrastructure of the Latino nonprofit sector and to
cultivate the next generation of Latino leadership within the U.S. and Latin
America.

The Collaborative will provide three-year grants of up to $150,000 to Latino
nonprofit organizations to support
capacity-building, access to coaching from organizational development
specialists, and opportunities to network with
colleagues regionally and nationally. Organizations with annual operating
budgets of under $2 million that serve
communities in Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota are
eligible to apply.

For further information, see the RFP announcement at the Web site of the
Minnesota Council on Foundations ( http://www.mcf.org/ ) or contact the HIP
Midwest office.
