Page Education Foundation Accepting Applications for
Educational Grants From Minnesota Students of Color

  Deadline: May 1, 2001

Established in 1988 by Minnesota Viking great Alan Page,
the Page Education Foundation encourages participation of
Minnesota students of color in post-secondary education.
The foundation is currently accepting applications for
educational grants from Minnesota students of color who
plan to study at accredited Minnesota colleges, universities,
  or vocational schools next year.

Approximately 500 renewable grants ranging from $900 to
$2,500 annually will be awarded for the 2001-02 academic
year. In addition to maintaining their studies, grant reci-
pients must complete a service-to-children project that
involves helping younger children of color by acting as
mentors and role models approximately two hours per week.

The foundation hopes to reach students at risk of not
continuing their education, particularly those with average
grades who may not qualify to receive other grants and
scholarships. Successful applicants must express a willing-
ness to do community service, maintain a positive attitude
toward education, and demonstrate financial need.

Individuals interested in applying for a grant may contact
their high school's counseling office, career center, or
  the foundation's office.
