NRC ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON REACTOR SAFEGUARDS |
|||||||||
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) will hold a public meeting Oct. 2-4 in Rockville, Md., to discuss several issues of current interest, including the license renewal application for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant. Other topics to be covered include the Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR) Design Certification application, historical perspectives and insights on reactor consequence analyses, and the status of resolution of Generic Safety Issue (GSI)-191: Assessment of Debris Accumulation on Pressurized-Water Reactor (PWR) Sump Performance. The ACRS advises the Commission, independently from the NRC staff, on safety issues related to the licensing and operation of nuclear power plants. |
