Dear Colleague:
I am pleased to invite you to participate in the eighth annual observance of National Women’s Health Week, May 13-19, 2007. The week is a national effort led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and an alliance of organizations to raise awareness about manageable steps that women can take to improve their health, and helps underserved women gain access to important preventive healthcare services.
You can participate by sponsoring an event or activity during the month of May. You could host a display table, health fair, educational workshop, fitness event, or partner with a local health provider or organization to offer screenings. The 2007 theme is “It’s Your Time! Pamper Your Mind, Body, and Spirit.”
Interested organizations can add their events to the online Activity Registry at www.womenshealth.gov/whw/ and find numerous educational materials online to support their efforts. More information about National Women’s Health Week is available at www.womenshealth.gov/whw/.
Thank you for your interest in and commitment to improving the health of women.
Sincerely,
Julie Louise Gerberding, M.D., M.P.H.
Director
