Workshop on Vendor Oversight for New Reactor ConstructionIn support of new reactor construction, the NRC conducts vendor inspections to provide assurance that the parts and services provided are in compliance with applicable Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements. Vendor inspections are conducted at a sample of vendor facilities principally to examine whether the vendors' processes and procedures meet technical requirements for the parts or services provided and are in compliance with Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50, as required by procurement contracts with applicants or licensees. As a result of the vendor inspections the NRC staff has performed in the last year, the NRC identified the need for a workshop to bring together NRC staff, regulated utilities, vendors of nuclear components and other interested stakeholders to discuss nuclear vendor oversight, vendor's quality assurance program implementation, and regulatory trends. Topics at this workshop include commercial-grade dedication and 10 CFR Part 21 requirements. All workshop attendees are strongly encouraged to pre-register by the close of business on November 26, 2008. (See Registration below). Note: Please ensure that expected attendees other than NRC employees provide identifying data, i.e., name and company.
