Additional TIPS for Using EHD
Using the folder view and Web-based search together
You can display the EHD Folder View and the Web-based Search simultaneously
by opening separate browser windows. This approach allows you to use
the best features of both.
Working with Document Packages
NRC documents that are related sometimes appear as groups of documents
in a container called a package.
In the Folder View:
- Look for the package icon in
the list of documents
- The accession numbers for individual documents in the package are
displayed when the package is opened. No actual document is displayed.
- Find the documents in the package by searching the folder or by
scrolling through the documents in the folder for the docket.
In the Web-Based Search:
- Either enter the accession number for the package into the accession
number field on the search screen, or
- Copy and paste the accession number where found in the EHD Folder
View (have both views open on the desktop) to the Web-Based search
screen accession number field.
- The search result will show a package icon as
part of the search results.
- Select the package icon and the documents in the package will appear.
- Obtaining Adobe Software to Access Documents in Portable Document
Format
All EHD documents are in portable document format (PDF). Free viewers
are available from Adobe and
other Web sites if you don’t already have one on your computer.
