Objective:
Develop new sources of durable wheat rust resistance.

Approach:
(1) Minimize teh impact of African stem rust (Ug99) of wheat in the affected areas as quickly as possible; (2) Provide more durable wheat rust resistance for the longer term; and (3) Discover technology that will lead to the development of non-host resistance to rust in wheat.
