13th/102nd Volunteer Infantry: The 13th Pennsylvania Infantry was organized for three months' service in April 1861, and then reconstituted in August 1861 as the 102nd Pennsylvania Infantry, though still often called "the Old 13th." See the Preface of A.M. Stewart's Camp, March, and Battle-Field (Philadelphia: J. B. Rodgers, 1865), pp. vi-vii.

32nd Volunteers/32nd Militia: The 32nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, also known as the 3rd Pennsylvania Reserve, served from May 1861 to August 1864. See E. M. Woodward, History of the Third Pennsylvania Reserve (Trenton, N.J., MacCrellish & Quigley, 1883). The 32nd Pennsylvania Militia was comprised largely of officers and men from the 1st Pennsylvania Volunteers, serving from June to August 1863. For the activities of the 32nd Militia, see Edwin N. Reading Artillerists: This unit comprised Company G of the 1st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry from April to July 1861, and Company T of the 128th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry from August 1862 to May 1863. 22nd Cavalry/Ringgold Cavalry: Established as a cavalry company in June 1861, the original Ringgold Cavalry was amalgamated with other units to form the Ringgold Cavalry Battalion in September 1862.
