Governor Jindal Announces that White House Approved 90 Percent Federal Cost Share on Public Assistance for Gustav Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced that the state received notice from President Bush that the administration has approved Louisiana to receive 90 percent federal cost share for the public assistance program related to Hurricane Gustav. The approval of the 90-10 federal cost share came following Governor Jindal's repeated requests for the government to approve a 100 percent federal cost share related to Hurricane Gustav, as they did for Texas after Hurricane Ike, and as Congress did for Louisiana after the storms in 2005. FEMA sent another letter to the Governor today, along with the letter from the President, denying the Governor's 100 percent federal cost share request for Hurricane Gustav.
