Abstract: TIRS stores OSHA docket materials for safety, health, record keeping, and construction rulemakings. In addition, information about State Plan States, consultation, voluntary protection programs (VPP), National Recognized Testing Laboratories (NTRL), Information Collection Requests (ICR) and Agency Committee activities is maintained on TIRS. Users include employers, unions, associations, academic institutions, law firms, federal, state and local governments and others interested in OSHA programs, especially standards development. Interested parties can access TIRS at the Department of Labor, in the Technical Data Center public reading room, N2625, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20210.

Purpose: TIRS was created to manage OSHA documents collected by the Agency during a variety of activities. The activities include rulemaking, laboratory accreditation, information collection clearances, committee meetings, and State and consultation activities.

Agency Program: TIRS aids the Agency to comply with the Agency Regulatory Agenda, the Occupational Safety & Health Act, the Administrative Procedures Act, the Freedom of Information Act, and the Paperwork Reduction Act.
