Abstract:
The Administrative Review Board issues final determinations on behalf of
the Secretary of Labor under more than 30 statutory and regulatory authorities.
The Board maintains a comprehensive collection of its final dispositions in its
office in Washington, D.C. Decisions issued since November 1996 are also
available in electronic format on the Internet.
Purpose: Board
decisions are public documents and must be accessible to the public. Prior
decisions establish case law and create precedents in determining current and
future appeals.
Agency Program: The ARB is an independent
entity within the Department of Labor responsible for issuing final agency
decisions in review or on appeal of the following matters: – final
decisions of the Wage & Hour Administrator and of Administrative Law Judges
under the Davis-Bacon and related Acts; – final decisions of the Wage
& Hour Administrator and of Administrative Law Judges under the
McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act and the Contract Work Hours and
Safety Standards Act; – decisions and recommended decisions of
Administrative Law Judges under employee protection provisions of various laws
including several environmental protection statutes.
