Constraints: None Abstract: The Working Partners for an
Alcohol- and Drug-Free Workplace Web site contains a wide variety of
information about the nature, extent and impact of workplace substance abuse
and how to establish workplace prevention and intervention programs. The site
features the Drug-Free Workplace Advisor, an interactive tool that helps
employers build tailored, drug-free workplace policies and programs; the
Substance Abuse Information Database, an online repository of hundreds of
documents related to workplace alcohol and drug abuse; basic information about
substance abuse and how it affects employment; and directories of national,
state and local resources as well as state laws that may assist employers in
making their businesses drug free. Purpose: Because substance
abuse has a negative impact on workplace safety, health and productivity, the
Working Partners Web site is intended to raise awareness of the problem of
workplace substance abuse and what can be done to address it. The Web site
provides information that can be used by employers at even the smallest work
organization to develop an effective substance abuse prevention program.
Agency Program: Working Partners for an Alcohol- and Drug-Free
Workplace is an educational outreach and information dissemination initiative
inteded to: 1)increase awareness of the impact of workplace substance abuse,
2)encourage employers to develop prevention programs, and 3)provide the
information and materials they need to implement workplace prevention programs
appropriate to and effective for their individual work organization.
