Abstract: Section 168, Veterans' Workforce Investment
Program(VWIP), is to support employment and training programs. Through grants
and contracts the funds are intended to meet the needs for workforce investment
activities of veterans. Those veterans to be targeted for assistance are those
with service-connected disabilities, veterans who have significant barriers to
employment, veterans who served on active duty in the armed forces during a
campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized, and
recently separted veterans.
Purpose: To fund activities to
enhance services provided to eligible veterans by other providers of employment
and training services funded by Federal, State, local or tribal governments.
Provide outreach and public information activities to develop and promote
maximum job and training or retraining opportunities for eligible veterans.
Agency Program: P.L. 105-220, Workforce Investment Act,
Section 168, Veterans' Workforce Investment Programs(VWIP), is to support
employment and training programs through grants and contracts.
