The Dixie National Forest provides a variety of recreational opportunities. Fore people who like seclusion, the Forest has many undeveloped back country areas for hiking, biking, horseback riding, OHV use, fishing and camping.

Recreation Facility Analysis - The Dixie National Forest was a regional pilot forest for the Recreational Facility Analysis Project. Our analysis was approved in 2006 by Regional Forester Jack Troyer.
During the summer months high intensity thunderstorms can produce
flash flooding. When this occurs, stay out of washes and canyon
bottoms.

Please note: Motorized travel off of existing roads in and around the Navajo Lake area is not allowed and will be enforced. This entire area is restricted to travel on designated routes only.
As a visitor to the National Forest you are asked to follow certain rules designated to protect the forests and the natural environment, to ensure the heath and safety of visitors, and to promote pleasant and rewarding outdoor recreation experiences for all visitors. Forest officers are required to enforce Federal Regulations so please take time to read and understand them.
