Interpreter Services

Throughout history Seattle and the Puget Sound region have been a destination for refugees and immigrants from all over the world. Scandinavians, Greeks, Slavs, Japanese, Hispanics, Chinese, African-Americans, Filipinos, Italians, Southeast-Asians, Central Americans, North Africans, and people from the former Soviet Union, China and Central Europe now live here.

Our new citizens bring us change, challenge and diversity.  The King County Prosecuting Attorney's office provides interpreters and translators to bind our communities together as we work together seeking justice.

  • We facilitate testimony of non-English speaking witnesses
  • We overcome cultural and linguistic barriers to participation in the legal process
  • We provide equal access to the criminal justice system in over 100 languages
  • Our interpreters are competent and confidential

Interpreters are provided to facilitate:

  • Testimony in the State's case
  • Restitution investigation
  • Victim advocacy

Should you or someone you are assisting require an interpreter, please notify the deputy prosecuting attorney, paralegal or victim assistance worker assigned to your case as soon as possible.
