OHV Riding on the Dixie National Forest

Many people enjoy the outdoors while riding an ATV or OHV. The future of your riding opportunities depends on YOU! Protect your right to ride. Respect the land, the wildlife, and the rights of others. Please ride responsibly and Tread Lightly.

General Information for Riders

Where Can I Ride?

  • As an ATV/OHV rider, it is your responsibility to purchase one or both of the ATV Trail Maps that are available for sale. These maps show routes where ATV/OHV travel is permitted.
  • OHVs may operate on any trail that is signed as open to that use.
  • Riding your OHV/ATV cross-country is strongly discouraged through out the forest and is prohibited in many areas.
  • Non-street legal OHVs may operate on any open unpaved road unless signs are posted to prohibit such use.
  • Unless signed otherwise, all County roads are open to OHVs.
  • All paved roads are closed to OHVs unless signed otherwise.
  • It is not legal to "cut cookies" in the roads or to ride road cutbanks and fillslopes.
  • It is not legal for riders to make their own trails.
  • It is not legal for parents to allow their kids to make "kiddie loops" around their camps.

Please stay on designated roads and trails - Flyer (pdf document, 153 kilobytes)

Please note: Motorized travel off of existing roads in and around the Navajo Lake area is not allowed and will be enforced. This entire area is restricted to travel on designated routes only.
