Astronomy Club Partner Program

Astronomy Clubs throughout the United States and beyond are invited to partner with The Space Place to bring news of specific NASA projects to their members and to help spread the excitement of space and Earth science, as well as the technology that advances the science. Over 250 clubs now receive monthly articles written specifically for astronomy lovers. These articles are published in the clubs' printed and online member newsletters.

Enthusiastic astronomy hobbyists are wonderful mentors and motivators of young children, encouraging them to look up at the night sky and consider making the pursuit of its mysteries their life's work. The articles the clubs receive by partnering with The Space Place give not only online references for further technical and scientific details, but also suggested links to relevant activities or explanations on The Space Place to assist astronomy club members in their interactions with kids.

Also useful in working with children, The Space Place provides original hands-on activity guides. These are simple, NASA-mission-related, structured activities that can be done in organized group settings or handed out for kids and parents to do independently.

The Space Place also maintains a video/DVD lending library exclusively for its astronomy club partners. The collection includes programs about NASA space telescopes and other missions and discoveries.
