Research Project:
GRAIN FRACTIONATION FOR EFFICIENT FUEL ETHANOL PRODUCTION
Location: Crop Conversion Science and Engineering
Project Number: 1935-41000-072-03
Project Type:
Nonfunded Cooperative Agreement
Start Date: Jan 02, 2007
End Date: Dec 31, 2009
Objective:
The objective of this cooperative research project is to increase the efficiency and lower the cost of fuel ethanol production from corn.
Approach:
Develop ¿upstream¿ dry milling fractionation processes to recover valuable non-fermentable corn kernel coproduct fractions (pericarp and germ) and to produce high-starch fractions for more efficient ethanol production.
