The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama has a requirement for the following: Janitorial services contract for The Hugo Black Federal Building located in Birmingham, Alabama to commence on July 1st, 2008. The building has approximately 184,000 square feet of "gross space" with a net cleaning area of 151,413 square feet. There is a basement through nine floors. The population of the building is 200-250 (varies according to court schedule). The official working hours of building occupants is 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. There are approximately 260 toilet fixtures, 625 exterior windows and 625 window blinds. There is a total of 6 passenger elevators. The outside area to be policed is 10,400 SF. Turf area is 6,700 SF. Edging is 600 SF. There are 2332 shrubs, 45 trees and the parking lot area is 49, 900 SF. The contractor my employ subcontractors to perform the following work: Solid waste disposal, recycling, blind washing, carpet cleaning, window cleaning and snow removal. The award of this contract will be made to the vendor who provides the lowest technically acceptable offer.
