The Erie County Clerk's Office is the business center for the County. The Clerk's Office, including the Auto Bureau, processes more than 2 million transactions per year. All records for the purchase and sale of real property and numerous other public documents are recorded in this Office.
The County Clerk Office's electronic records have been and continue to be available in the Clerk's Office at publicly accessible computer terminals. Upgrades to our technology now allow expanded access to our data on the internet. By clicking here, you will be linked to this data. You may also log on directly at ecclerk.erie.gov. The data which is available includes deeds recorded since 1960 and mortgages recorded since 1980 in Erie County, as well as other records such as assumed names, corporations and liens from February 21, 1994. The activities of the County Clerk's Registrar's Office are literally an open book, with easy access to all available public records. The Auto Bureau's two branches and five Mobile Auto Bureau sites offer a full range of services related to motor vehicles and licenses.
