Research Project: EVALUATION OF QUALITY OF OREGON WHEAT BREEDING LINES

Location: Wheat Genetics, Quality Physiology and Disease Research

Project Number: 5348-43440-004-08
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Oct 01, 2006
End Date: Jun 30, 2011

Objective:
Identify the sources of variation for quality in wheat; evaluate the end-use quality of experimental wheat breeding lines in Oregon state.

Approach:
Compare the milling and baking performance of experimental wheat lines. Examine the environmental stability of breeding lines from various Oregon locations. Evaluate the end-use quality of experimental wheat breeding lines representing six wheat classes including the breeding of hard white wheats for noodles. Incorporate the RVA, flour tests, and a new short-flow Quadrumat milling system. Replaces 5348-43440-004-04T. Documents Trust with the OR Wheat Commission. Log 31930.
