Wheat Genetics, Quality, Physiology and Disease Research Unit:

Our mission is to enhance the productivity and quality of wheat and
barley for domestic food use and for the export market by making use
of the most modern tools of plant and microbial molecular biology to
address persistent and emergent problems related to diseases and
environmental stresses, grain quality, and plant growth. We develop
germplasm and cultivars that increase the safety, security, value,
efficiency, and sustainability of U.S. wheat production by improving
seed germination and stand establishment, yield, disease resistance,
tolerance of weather-related stresses, and improved qualities for the
end-users.
