Research Project: UNIFORM FUNGICIDE TRIAL FOR SCAB ON WHEAT IN ILLINOIS Project Number: 0500-00053-002-32
Project Type: Grant

Start Date: May 24, 2004
End Date: May 23, 2009

Objective:
Test the efficacy of fungicides and biological control agents in controlling head scab on wheat and their resulting effect on yield and quality of wheat.

Approach:
Establish treatment and control plots at two locations to test treatment application at early anthesis. Take two ratings for scab from each plot beginning with the onset of disease symptoms and take subsequent ratings every 5 to 7 days through the dough stages until the heads begin to mature. Rate for disease incidence and severity. Calculate yield from grain weight and grain moisture collected from each plot measure test weights from collected grain samples. Send grain samples for DON analysis.
