  1. Does CDC offer tobacco use prevention and education advertisements?

  1. Does CDC offer tobacco use prevention and education advertisements?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Office on Smoking and Health funds the Media Campaign Resource Center (MCRC) to help nonprofit health-related organizations and government agencies minimize the time and costs involved in producing tobacco use prevention and education campaigns. The MCRC licenses and maintains a collection of tobacco control advertisements developed by various states, organizations, and federal agencies. This collection includes hundreds of television and radio commercials, as well as print ads and outdoor ads.

Nonprofit health organizations and government agencies can use most ads from the MCRC collection for reduced costs. The MCRC also offers resources to help these organizations select ads that might be appropriate for their campaigns. For more information and to review MCRC products, please visit the MCRC Web site.

Per CDC’s licensing agreements with the original producers, for-profit organizations are not allowed to use any MCRC materials except those developed by CDC. Requests to use CDC material are considered on a case-by-case basis. For information on how to submit a request, please contact the MCRC using the contact information provided below.
