Research Project: DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING OF A BMP EVALUATION TOOL FOR TEXAS

Location: Grassland Soil and Water Research Laboratory, Temple, Texas

Project Number: 6206-13610-006-33
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Sep 02, 2008
End Date: Aug 31, 2009

Objective:
Develop an easy-to-use BMP Evaluation Tool to aid in science-based practice selection, cost-effective conservation spending, and program benefit analysis.

Approach:
Modify the recently completed Oklahoma PPM program to more directly apply to conditions in Texas. Measured data from Texas and surrounding states will be used to test the tool to ensure it accurately predicts runoff, soil erosion, and nutrient loss from agricultural opeations.
