Mission:

The mission of the USDA/ARS Catfish Genetics Research Unit, Stoneville, MS is to determine inheritance of desirable economically important traits of channel catfish, determine the optimal strategies for improving germplasm, to develop and release improved catfish germplasm for use as seed stock in commercial production, and to determine water quality parameters that limit production of genetically improved catfish.
