Objective:
The objective of this cooperative research project is the study of resistance management and injury potential of Lepidopterous pests to transgenic cottons.

Approach:
Collections of feral heliothines are key to assess their susceptibility to Bacillus thuringiensis proteins. Due to the fact that the Florida Agricultural Landscape is unique for their diversity of crops, samples from this region offer a great opportunity to conduct behavioral and ecological research with these pests. This work can lead to a better detection of Bt resistance in feral Lepidoptera as well as the enhancement of the knowledge of heliothine¿s reproductive biology.
