Edgar Allan Poe National Historical Site

“For the most wild, yet most homely narrative which I am about to pen,” so begins Poe’s famous short story “The Black Cat,” written while living in this house with his family. Writer, editor, popular poet and inventor of the detective story, Edgar Allan Poe still thrills readers today. Come imagine Poe’s life on Seventh Street, his only surviving residence in Philadelphia.

The bridge at Dingmans Ferry PA from the Pennsylvania side

Did You Know?
... the bridge across the Middle Delaware at Dingmans Ferry PA is the fourth bridge at that location, the first dating from 1836. The current bridge was built out of salvaged railroad trusses placed here on newly-built piers in 1889. It is one of very few privately-owned bridges elft in the nation.
