Senior Department of Energy Official to Outline Nuclear Waste Cleanup Progress at Semi-Annual Environmental Management Advisory Board Meeting in Ohio
WASHINGTON, DC – On Thursday, September 25, 2008, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management (EM) James A. Rispoli will provide an update on the Environmental Management program to the Environmental Management Advisory Board (EMAB). Assistant Secretary Rispoli will update the Board on the Department’s progress at cleaning up nuclear waste from the nation’s former weapons production program.

The Environmental Management program’s semi-annual EMAB meeting is an opportunity for the Board to receive information on and to discuss the EM Program. The Board provides independent and external advice, information, and recommendations to the Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management on corporate issues affecting the EM program.
