Agriculture

Our nation's agricultural economy is diverse, and farming practices have beneficial and adverse impacts on our land, air and water. We collaborate with a broad set of federal, state, local, and non-government partners to protect, maintain and improve the quality of our land, air and water.

Agriculture in our region is highly diverse, ranging from large dairies in upstate New York and cranberry bogs in New Jersey to poultry operations in Puerto Rico and small sugar cane farms in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Some statistics compiled from U.S. Department of Agriculture's 2002 Census of Agriculture highlight the wide range of agriculture in Region 2 as well as it’s importance to the economy of the region.
