Mary Higgins Clark
Mary Higgins Clark has written 24 bestsellers, but her first book was a biographical novel about George Washington, Aspire to the Heavens (1969), now republished as Mount Vernon Love Story: A Novel of George and Martha Washington (Simon & Schuster, 2002). In 1975, Ms. Clark's writing career took a dramatic turn with the publication of Where Are the Children, her first suspense novel now in its 75th edition. More than 15 of her books or stories have been filmed. Ms. Clark was chosen by Mystery Writers of America as Grand Master of the 2000 Edgar Awards and an annual award is given in her name. Her most recent books, besides Mount Vernon Love Story, are Daddy's Little Girl (Simon & Schuster, 2002) and the paperback release of He Sees You When You're Sleeping (Pocket Books, October 2002) which she co-wrote with her daughter,Carol Higgins Clark.
