Data are weighted to the 1995 U.S. population and age-adjusted to the year 2000 population standard. Data analysis excluded trips with incomplete travel mode, distance, trip purpose, or age.

Auto = automobile, van, sport utility vehicle, pickup truck, other truck, recreational vehicle, motorcycle, and other personal vehicle.

Other = bus, Amtrak, commuter train, streetcar/trolley, subway/elevated rail, airplane, taxicab, and other non-personal vehicle.
