Our Focus

The primary focus of this Branch’s research is Urban Wet-Weather Flow (WWF), and Urban Water Infrastructure, specializing in pipeline structural integrity. The UWMB welcomes your questions or comments on these topics, and we also welcome comments on how we can improve our web site. If you are referring to a specific page within EPA's web site, please include a URL or title for the site.

Questions or comments on other topics of interest are sent directly to the specific EPA program most responsible for the topic of interest. Regulatory questions should be directed to the appropriate EPA Regional Offices. If you are trying to find a specific program, region or regulation, the EPA’s Main Contact Us page is a good place to start.

In contrast to the urban watershed is the rural watershed, including wilderness areas far away from urban settings. Other research programs, especially those of the Department of Agriculture and Department of Transportation, address the special issues related to rural and agricultural NPS runoff. The Army Corps of Engineers addresses drainage system design with regard to flooding.
