Research Project: COOPERATION WITH THE INTERNATIONAL RICE RESEARCH INSTITUTE (IRRI) Project Number: 5402-21000-007-05

Objective:
The objective of this agreement is to continue long-term cooperation with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) within the framework of the National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) by preserving at the National Center for Genetic Resources Preservation (NCGRP) security backup samples of rice to guarantee their conservation and safety.

Approach:
NCGRP and IRRI will continue their cooperation and exchange of information and plant materials, commencing with the preservation of seeds of Oryza sativa (rice) and the wild relatives of the rice that serve their mutual conservation interests.
