"Mortality
Experience of the 1986-2000 National Health Interview Survey Linked
Mortality Files Participants"
This report presents the results of a comparison of the mortality experience
of the 1986-2000 NHIS cohorts (between the NHIS interview and December 31,
2002) with that of the U.S. population, and thus provides information on how
well mortality was ascertained in the NHIS Linked Mortality Files.

Release of Selected Findings from the January-March 2008 National Health
Interview Survey"
This Internet-only release provides estimates of selected health measures
from January 1997 through March 2008 NHIS. The indicators include obesity,
physical activity, smoking, alcohol use, self-assessed health status,
influenza vaccination, pneumococcal vaccination, usual place to go for
medical care, unmet need for health care, HIV testing, personal care needs,
serious psychological distress, diagnosed diabetes, asthma episodes, and
lack of insurance coverage. Based on data from household interviews with a
sample of the nation’s civilian, noninstitutionalized population.
