In
2001, the percent of adults with excessive alcohol consumption was 9.5%
(95% CI = 9.1%-9.9%).
There
was no trend in the estimates of excessive alcohol consumption among U.S.
adults since 1997 (9.5% in 1997, 8.7% in 1998, 9.5% in 1999, 8.7% in 2000,
and 9.5% in 2001).
