excluded 405 persons with unknown success in obtaining needed medical
care. Estimates are age-sex-adjusted to a year 2000 standard population
using three age groups: under 18 years, 18-64 years, and 65 years and
over.

adjusting for age and sex, 4.3% of white non-Hispanic, 5.6% of Hispanic,
and 6.0% of black non-Hispanic persons were unable to obtain needed
medical care during the year preceding the interview.

persons to experience this lack of access to medical care. |
